Philosophy | Our Thoughts
Savonneries Brussels is the only soap manufacturer in Belgium, founded in 1926 . The company's headquarters and factory are located on the outskirts of Brussels, an old town that has been registered as a World Heritage Site, in the same historical building as when it was founded, and has maintained its tradition for over 80 years.
Our goal is to make the world's best soap.
There are four secrets to creating this.
[Part 1: Triple Mill]
Savonnerie's Bruxelles soaps are known for their cashmere-like texture.
Fragrances and other ingredients are added to the soap base, then ground into fine pieces using a special mill used in chocolate making, and quickly mixed to ensure uniformity. By repeating this process three times using the triple mill manufacturing method, we have created a fine-grained foam that clings tightly to the skin. This high-quality cream-like smooth foam cleanses even the smallest pores of dirt while leaving oil on the skin for a moisturizing finish.
[Part 2: Carefully selected raw materials]
All of our soaps are made with luxurious organic ingredients such as the highest quality argan oil and shea butter. We have carefully selected fragrances that do not contain allergenic ingredients, and have used them sparingly for Japanese people who do not like strong scents.
At Savonneries Bruxelles, the molds used to mold soaps are also handcrafted by specialized craftsmen in the factory's atelier. For the products we sell in Japan, we selected smaller molds from among the 300 molds that have been used since our founding, and made them sized to fit comfortably in our hands.
[Part 3: Careful manufacturing method using both manual labor and machinery]
The process to completion is three stages. First, the ingredients are mixed by hand into the soap base, triple milled, and extruded into long tubes. After that, it is put through the extruder again, cut into pieces, and cut out of molds to complete the manufacturing process. After drying for at least 4 days, the pieces are wrapped one by one. Through this careful manufacturing process that takes time and effort, the soap is finally completed.
[Part 4: The craftsmanship and spirit that have been passed down]
The artisans who work at the Savonneries Bruxelles factory continue to work for generations, from parents to children and grandchildren. As a result, we have inherited outstanding skills, a wide range of knowledge, and above all a deep love and pride for soap.
In this way, Savonnerie's Brussels soaps, which have been nurtured through European history and culture, are imbued with ``tradition,'' ``trust,'' ``quality,'' ``love,'' ``safety,'' and ``peace of mind.''
